Ray Brown

As Founder and Managing Principal of Legacy Consulting Group, Mr. Brown draws on nearly three decades of experience as a senior healthcare executive and general management consultant. His clients include multi-hospital health systems, investor-owned hospital companies, academic medical centers, community hospitals, large physician group practices and post acute healthcare organizations including home care and retirement living.

Mr. Brown has led multiple engagements involving every facet of healthcare business development and planning. He has facilitated countless Board retreats, led development of business strategies and plans, and conducted numerous market and facility assessments. As a Practice Leader, he has responsibility for the firm’s strategy, business planning and master facility planning engagements.

Prior to forming LEGACY in 1996, Mr. Brown served as a senior executive for a large regional healthcare system. His responsibilities included the development and operations of a diversified health services subsidiary serving nearly one million suburban residents. Mr. Brown directed the development and expansion of numerous business units including a network of neighborhood health centers, a senior residential community, a 4,000-member health club and a Medicare certified home care agency. He was instrumental in the formation and development of a multi-site primary care network and 180-member multi-specialty physician group.

Mr. Brown was a Managing Consultant with Cresap – A Towers Perrin company and a Senior Consultant with Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte) for nine years. While at Cresap and Touche Ross, the focus of his consulting was strategy and operations improvement. Mr. Brown holds a Master of Public Administration degree with distinction and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia. He is a Professional Member of the Institute of Management Consultants USA and a member of the Forum for Healthcare Strategists and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development of the American Hospital Association.
